120. Miguel Quiñones on Researching Immigrant Financial Acculturation
Miguel is a graduate student at the University of Minnesota. His research examines how the role of culture and acculturation processes influences immigrant Latino families' financial decision-making.
Miguel is the son of immigrant parents who grew up experiencing a lot of the challenges around finances that immigrant families face, which is what led him to this type of work. He's currently working on two separate studies investigating the experiences/consequences of unbanked immigrants and those who participate in lending circles (aka Tandas).
Listen to episode #120, and learn from Miguel's experience of overcoming l financial barriers faced by the immigrant community.
