Cassie Jo Stoddart was a 16 year old girl who was house sitting for her aunt & uncle September 22, 2006. She invited her boyfriend Matt and 2 classmates Brian & Torey over to watch a movie. Before the movie she gave them a tour of the house and then they made their way back to the living room to start the show.
Brian & Torey decided to leave and go to the theatre to watch a movie and left Matt & Cassie alone. The dogs kept going to the basement steps, barking & growling, and the lights kept going out. Instead of investigating, Matt & Cassie stayed in the living room.
Matt was picked up by his mother around 11pm, even after asking her if he could stay with Cassie who was uneasy about the strange behavior of the dogs & the lights.
By the next morning, Cassie Jo was dead, being stabbed over 30 times.
