When the temple was finished being being built a certain day came for the dedication. King Solomon stood before the altar before the whole congregation with his hands spread out towards heaven and prayed. He spoke about the promise God made to His father David saying that "there shall never fail from before the Lord a man to sit upon his throne." King Solomon prayed a majestic prayer that was for all people in whatever case they were in.
Where they found themselves, in sickness, in dealing with strangers, going out to war, being captured by enemies and sin. All of which pointed to heaven where God is for their causes. To pray to Him with full assurance that He would answer them in every situation. At the end of his prayer it says that King Solomon then raised himself up because he was kneeling with his hands spread before heaven.
Then he said these words, "Blessed be the Lord, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant." He said that "nothing had failed of all God's good promise," and it struck me. The all-encompassing God will not let one single thing He has said and promised in His word will fail. Because He is the word and He cannot fail. It is impossible for Him to fail.
When a person begins to pray for the cares of their life challenges, it starts out in the early years with standing before Him in prayer. Then after a good long life of standing before His throne in the beginning, at the end of their lives they will find themselves upon their knees with their hands spread towards heaven where the unfailing Christ is. Jeremiah said "His compassions fail not, they are new every morning." That means that as long as you live, there will be an "every morning," and His unfailing compassions will surround you. All that He is can never fail, "He will hear from heaven your prayers and supplications and answer you and maintain your cause."
"God is God. Because he is God, He is worthy of my trust and obedience. I will find rest nowhere but in His holy will that is unspeakably beyond my largest notions of what he is up to.” ― Elisabeth Elliot
