The Werewolf and the Vampire - Giles De Reis and Peter Stubbe
In the second episode of the Golden Age of Serial Murder we look at the origins of serial murder in the western mind. Looking as far back as possible and diving into the mind of a serial killer. While serial killing cases were rare they increased in the middle ages where those perceived as killers were considered werewolfs and vampires. We explore the life of Giles De Rais a hero only second to Joan of Arc for the French people at the time but perhaps the most cruel of all serial killers and a local German man named Peter Stubbe 'the werewolf of bedburg'.
