Season 3 Podcast 98 The Last Days Pt IV The Marriage Supper of the Lamb vs The Supper of the Great God
The Marriage Supper of the Lamb vs The Supper of the Great God
Let’s turn to the Book of Revelation, Chapter 19, to read of the two great suppers that will be held at the Second Coming of Christ and prior to the Millennium. As we read this, let’s remember that the Second Coming is a series of events, not a single spectacular appearing. Many things happen during the Second Coming both for the preparation for the coming of Christ and for the preparation of the ushering in of the Millennium. There will be no magic wand and poof, all is done.
Think of the Second Coming of Christ as the preparation for the Millennium and think of the Millennium as a thousand-year period of well-established government ruled by Christ and administered by his disciples. It is an extremely elaborate system of government, but before that can happen, the entire world must be overthrown, and all of its governments collapse and the wicked removed from the earth. That does not happen in an instant suddenly. In addition, elaborate preparations are made before Christ comes, many during unspecified periods of time.
In two previous podcasts we talked about the rise and fall of Babylon. In Chapter 14 of the Book of Revelation an angel announces the fall of Babylon.
8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. (Revelation 14:8)
But that was just the voice of the second angel. In Chapter 14, we hear seven voices though only six voices are identified as angels. Enormous preparation occurs even before Christ appears on the earth the Second Time.
But notice the preparation before that occurs:
The First Voice announces the following:
1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: 3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. 4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. 5 And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.
Now we hear the voice of the first angel.
6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, 7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. (Revelation 14:1-7)
