It's mock draft season with the lottery set and it's time to take a spin around the internet to see who the Trail Blazers are projected to pick with the 7th selection in the 2022 NBA draft. There are a few consensus targets with Memphis' Jalen Duren, Arizona's Bennedict Mathurin and Duke's AJ Griffin the most common names pegged to land in Portland.
However, according to Jason Quick of The Athletic the Blazers might already be looking to trade their pick. Portland had hoped to land in the top four of the draft and grab a franchise altering type talent, but after slipping to seventh GM Joe Cronin, according to Quick, is working the phones and is likely to move the Blazers pick in favor of adding veteran help to a roster that needs upgrades at both forward spots, and wants to be competitive immediately.
