#66 Are You Drinking Alcohol to Avoid Conflict or Frustrations in Your Marriage? 3 Steps to Get Sober, Battle the Shame, and Connect with Your Husband Again with Guest Michelle Porterfield
The kids are finally in bed; the husband is on his phone, and your favorite show is about to come on. You grab a wine glass, fill it up, and settle into the other couch. No harm, right?
It's been a long day. Your kids are arguing, and your husband is in a bad mood. You sigh, head to the cabinet to get that trusty glass and pour a glass because you just need something to calm your nerves.
You walk downstairs after yet another stupid fight with your husband that has your nerves on edge and your heart filled with anger. You're so sick of it and just need a drink.
But instead of feeling better... you feel worse. Physically and, spiritually. You used to be closer to God, but recently you just haven't been able to get in your Bible reading as much as you've found the time to pop open a bottle. The thought crosses your mind... "maybe I drink too much," but the thought passes without action because, well, you don't think it's really a problem.
Or is it?
Tune into this guest episode with Michelle Porterfield of the Set Free Sisterhood podcast to hear about the lies that we wives tend to believe about drinking, how to know when it's a problem, and 3 steps you can begin to take toward sobriety so that you can actually begin to connect again with your husband.
Loads of Love,
Lydia
