22 May 2022 - Sixth Sunday of Easter - Our three scripture passages today are about Home. We all have a desire for the security, well-being and blessing that a home gives us. And no matter how good or how dysfunctional our childhood home was, we all know what the ideal home should be. But where can we find it? The biblical understanding is that home is in our relationship with God. It’s a gift that’s on offer, one that we don’t have to earn. We enter solely by grace. It’s a phenomenal promise, but our residency there depends upon maintaining the relationship. Our readings today teach us what is essential towards that end.
Readings: Deuteronomy 11:1-12; Revelation 21:10-22:5; John 14:23-29
