Bystanders outside Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas pleaded with law enforcement officers to rush the school as a gunman was inside. A victim’s father says he found out she was one of the victims when he arrived on the scene and was helping another little girl covered in blood. She told him her best friend had been shot. When he asked her name, she said his daughter’s. Ted Cruz stormed out on a British interviewer when asked why school shootings only happen in America. Texas Lt Gov Dan Patrick on “hardening” schools: “There should be one entrance in and one entrance out in all of our elementary and all of our middle schools. They’re small enough to do that. There should be only one way in, and that should be a well-protected entrance.”
