Acts 20:28-36
The Characteristics of an Influencer (Part 2)
• Guard your heart.
Beware of external dangers.
False teachers try to answer these foundational questions:
- Where did you come from? (Origin)
- Who am I? (Identity)
- Why am I here? (Meaning)
- How should I live? (Morality)
- Where am I going? (Destiny)
- I Don’t Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist, Geisler and Turek
False teachers try to answer these questions from a faulty worldview.
Naturalism: There is no God. Humans evolved from animals. The universe is a closed physical system.
Postmodernism: There are no objective truths or moral standards. Right and wrong is determined by society.
Pluralism: The different world religions provide equally valid paths to salvation.
Moralistic Therapeutic Deism: God just wants us to be happy and nice to other people. He only intervenes when we call on him to help us out.
New Spirituality: All people pray to the same god or spirit no matter what name they use for the spiritual being. If you do good you will receive good. If you do bad you will receive bad.
Beware of internal dangers.
