When you feel overwhelmed, when it feels like you don’t have time, when you feel like the best course of action is just to push through, that’s when to double down on self care. The tragic mass shooting in Buffalo, followed last week by the unthinkable school shooting in Uvalde, have left us buried - practically suffocating - in feelings. For so many of us, the temptation is to ignore the heavy feelings and just white-knuckle our way through the next few weeks. It’s to put the idea of self care away, to defer it until we can make time for it. But NOW is when you need to double-down on self care.
