On August 29th, 1994, the Hodges family died in their Virginia home, their bodies discovered by the fire department called to put out the fire that had been reported by neighbors. However, they had not died fire-related deaths. In fact, only two had been burned at all. Instead, the mother had been strangled, the two daughters had been shot at close range, and it looked like the father had taken his own life.
Police interviewed their family friend, Earl Bramblett, to see if he believed that Blaine Hodges was the type of person to kill his family and then himself. However, Earl showed signs that he knew more than the police had told him. And suddenly, this open and shut Family Annihilator case became something much, much worse.
Zoey walks us through what seems like a simple case on the surface, but it's actually more complex than you could imagine.
But first, Robin brings us to Leicestershire, England and tells the folktale of the Black Annis.
