Hattie Brown was 48 years old when she was last seen at a Sheetz gas station at the intersection of Route 501 and Route 58 in Halifax County, Virginia on May 16, 2009. Two months later, Hattie's car was found abandoned and burned on a vacant farm in Halifax County. Hattie has never been located, and her case remains unsolved. Hattie's brother, James Brown Jr., disappeared from Clover, Virginia just four years later on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2013. Authorities have stated they do not believe the two cases are connected, but both remain unsolved.
Hattie Brown is described as a black female, 5'4" and 155 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Hattie was last seen wearing a sleeveless top and pants with side stripes. She has a scar on her abdomen, and her ears are pierced.
James Brown Jr. is described as a black male, 6'0" and 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. James has a large black mole on his right cheek below his eye, and had a black mustache at the time of his disappearance. He often wears sunglasses, and was last seen wearing an orange/rust colored coat, blue jeans with gold stitching on the back pockets, tan work boots, a silver chain necklace and a dark gray or black stocking cap.
