06/06/2022 - SA Police's new podcast and film to drive home road safety message
Kristalle Dumesny was 18 years old when her car collided with a truck after the 2017 Easter long weekend. Kristalle received fatal injuries and sadly died at the scene.
SA Police have developed Kristalle’s story into a powerfully reenacted podcast and a short documentary-style film, to emphasise road safety and highlight the toll that impacts everyone touched by road trauma.
In this emotional podcast, hear from Kristalle’s father, Steve Dumesny, Brevet Sergeant Kirsten McLoughlin and Senior Sergeant Sue O’Connor Acting Officer in Charge Traffic Operation Section, as they confront the lasting and horrific impacts of road trauma on families, friends and emergency services workers.
“Nothing will ever bring Kristalle back,” Mr Dumesny said. “But if I can influence one driver to take extra care and avoid the same catastrophic outcome, it will be worthwhile."
