Heartbreaker! Rangers edged by Lightning in Game 5 and are once again on the brink
In the biggest gut-punch of a loss that the Rangers have suffered since Game 5 of the 2014 Stanley Cup Finals, the Blueshirts go toe-to-toe with the Lightning but are done in by a missed opportunity and a late goal by Ondrej Palat. Ryan Strome can’t handle a pass from Andrew Copp, which results in the Rangers missing a golden opportunity to take a late lead. With one even-strength goal in the past three games, is it time for the Rangers to shuffle the deck and perhaps put Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad together? Kaapo Kakko gets held and Tyler Motte gets tripped in the third period, and the refs don’t issue penalties. Igor Shesterkin and Andrei Vasilevskiy continue to duel. Rangers really need to stop giving up odd man rushes to Tampa. Episode 615. Intro song is “Leave the Lights On” by Passafire.
