In this episode, we talk about AA Founders Day. It’s hard to believe that a New York stockbroker and a doctor from Akron would change millions of peoples’ lives. But that they did. And then some. Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith not only changed the lives of millions, but they saved the lives of millions. Alcoholics and loved ones alike. And their Twelve Step recovery program continues to save millions to this day. It’s no wonder why tens of thousands are flocking to Akron, Ohio to celebrate A.A. Founders Day this weekend.
The book, Alcoholics Anonymous Comes of Age, states; “1935, June 10: Dr. Bob has his last drink. Alcoholics Anonymous founded.” The rest is history.
Today, I am celebrating Dr. Bob’s last drink and the millions of people who have recovered from addiction since that pivotal moment.
Have a wonderful Founders Day weekend everyone, aloha!
