23. Doulas, Parenting and Social Work with Sarah White
Welcome to Episode 23 - Doulas, Parenting and Social Work with Sarah White
Navigating pregnancy, child birth and then parenting can be a scary and overwhelming thing.
One minute, you're free as a bird, living the child-free life. The next minute, you've got a bundle of joy that you need to care for 24/7.
For some, childbirth and parenting comes easy. But for others, it flips life upside down.
When I became a dad, my idea of support was the hospital staff, the GP, mum's groups and family. I had no idea that you could get additional support from a Doula.
So in this episode, I chat with Sarah White who is a mum, social worker and postpartum Doula.
Sarah talks me through what she does as a Doula, but also how her work is shaped by her own experiences of motherhood and her social work experience.
This is a great episode for any soon to be parents looking for a bit of extra support.
