Down the Rabbit Hole on the Russia-Ukraine War #12 - Timelines and Sustainment
For a second episode in a row, "Down the Rabbit Hole on the #Russia-#Ukraine War" welcomes a special guest! Dr. Rita Konaev, a Fellow at Georgetown University's Center for Security and Emerging Technology - and a #BruteCast veteran - joined Krulak Center Distinguished Fellow and #Russia subject matter expert Dr. Yuval Weber to examine two themes: timelines and sustainment. There are many competing timelines at play, from Western weapons deliveries to Russian offensive tempo, from the impact of Western sanctions on Russia to the ability of domestic politics in Europe and the United States to maintain support for a war overseas. And all of this feeds into a war that is about sustainment for Russian and Ukrainian forces, as to which army can keep its units equipped, fed, and manned - all while adapting to battlefield lessons - in the bloody and grinding combat now defining the war in the Donbas.
All opinions expressed here are those of the individual and do not necessarily reflect those of the Krulak Center, Marine Corps University, the United States Marine Corps, or any other agency of the U.S. Government.
Dr. Konaev previously appeared on the #BruteCast to discuss urban warfare in the context of Ukraine: https://youtu.be/ytxG-7mAlWY
We also discussed a recent interview with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty in which Dr. Konaev touched on these issues as well; the interview may be found here: https://www.rferl.org/a/russia-ukraine-long-war-analysis/31912134.html
