Episode 129 Harold Rose-A school teacher who has lost an amazing 100 pounds (48Kg) in six months of living an intermittent fasting lifestyle.
Harold Rose, 46, lives in Gulfport, Mississippi, in the United States with his wife of 22 years, Stella and their two children ages 20 and 18. Gulfport is about an hour east of New Orleans, home of Mardi Gras in the United States. He is a public school teacher with over 20 years of experience. He has helped coach girls' volleyball at his school since 2018. Harold began intermittent fasting in December 2021, and as of June 2022, he is down over 100 lbs or 45 kilos. He started at 315 pounds and is now under 215. Harold used a form of ADF mixed with OMAD along with weight training and walking.
Harold struggled with being overweight for much of his life. After growing up on the “husky” side of life, Harold seemed to be constantly “dieting” or “watching: what he ate. As he neared high school graduation, Harold was 6’4” and almost 300 pounds. He began a crash diet and exercise program to attempt to join the military. Harold needed to drop down below 240 to enlist. With low calories and exercise, the weight was lost, but he failed the eye exam.
From that point in 1994, Harold went on to college. Slowly but surely, the weight came back. Through college, his early teaching career, after marrying his wife, Stella, and the beginnings of growing their family, Harold’s weight crept up and up. By 2007, following Hurricane Katrina, Harold’s weight was around 350 pounds. Harold doesn’t know his highest weight because he didn’t get on a scale for years.
From 2008 to 2014, Harold worked a second job part-time overnight at the local newspaper. With a lack of consistent sleep and stress, Harold surprisingly lost weight. His wife called it his “push away diet” – he pushed back away from the table when he was full and stopped going back for seconds. More in the episode.
