EP 74: Women Hunt with Renée Thornton from Wild Sheep Foundation
Kyle and Steve welcome Women Hunt lead Renée Thornton to the show. A three time returnee we catch up on Wild Sheep Foundation’s Women Hunt initiative and their many successes to date. We also talk about what is in store for the year ahead and beyond for the program.
Applications are now open for the Women Hunt New Hunter course that will take place this fall in Texas. Twelve new women hunters are chosen to partake in a fantastic week of mentoring, education and fun. Any women interested in learning about this great program and want to get involved visit www.wildsheepfoundation.org/womenhunt. Applications remain open until the end of May.
We also dive into Renée’s plans for hunting this year. You may recall from an earlier episode she talks about predator hunting, why she enjoys it, and how hunters have a role to play in managing the predator ungulate balance in nature. Predator hunting can be an emotive issue and Renée shares her perspective in an articulate and scientific based mind set.
As always it is a pleasure to welcome her to the show and catch up. Enjoy the listen.
