Employers are calling workers back to the office
Since the lifting of Covid 19 restrictions, most companies have been slowly asking employees who have been working remotely to return to the office. However the current heavy bout of loadshedding is making working from home extremely difficult leading to greater demands from company executives for employees to return to the office immediately. The high and ever increasing cost of fuel is on the other hand, putting employees who may want to return to the office in a very tight corner financially. There are disagreements at senior levels within organisations and an ongoing debate about how to this. Some experts say hybrid and remote working can be productive and that forcing employees back to the office may have unintended negative consequences. We spoke to Advaita Naidoo, Managing Director: Africa, at Jack Hammer Global, Africa's largest executive search firm.
