A Broken Brain, A Mended Family | Lisa Saygun - 384
Yet again, I sit with one of Australia's best female body builders, Lisa Saygun and yet again, we don't quite make it to our planned conversation about squats, macros and body building.
Last time Lisa shared her incredible story of homelessness (at 16), family mental health, generational trauma, medical hardships, anorexia and undisputable grit and resilience along the way. It was one hell of an episode (#363 for those who haven't heard it) and I honestly thought it would be near impossible to beat. But today she fronts up with more to report.. Lisa's estranged mother suddenly and unexpectedly appeared back in her life after a quarter of a century. We talk about this transition, some woo-woo generational trauma uncovered and what it's like to be a daughter, a mum and a human in the middle of it all.
Here's someone who's done the work, held the vision, taken responsibility for her outcomes, faced tough times, owned her flaws and written her own story.
Big thanks to Lisa for sharing her journey with myself and the Roll With The Punches tribe. x
