We focus heavily on PTSD and how it has impacted the lives of Veterans, First Responders and Law Enforcement. While not clinically diagnosed with post traumatic stress, there are countless others who's lives have been forever changed due to unthinkable tragedies and traumas. With talks about mental health at an all-time high, we wanted to address those who may fall into this category and offer a heartbreaking but powerful story of one man's journey through that darkness,
Josh Vegors is an avid outdoorsman, a content creator, a father and a husband. In 2011, he and his wife were expecting twins that would add two more boys to their growing family. Sadly, young Jonah would enter this world without his baby brother Preston and a long grieving process was about to begin.
Vegors knew that he had a family to support and wanted to be the father and husband his family needed. The mistake that he made was not confronting the immense grief of losing a child but his wife knew what Josh needed to help begin the healing process. Sending him off a night on the deer stand, it was there that he found a place to unpack the wounds he'd been hiding. It forever changed his life and an idea was born.
The hunt inspired a project that will share not only his story but the stories of others that have found peace, solace and healing in the outdoors. Already having some short films under his belt (check out Local Permission "Honor" and Knee Deep) on YouTube, he is now embarking on a multiyear journey of a much larger project. Seeking Solitude will be a series of films build around the idea of men escaping to the outdoors to find the peace that is so hard to come by and how it is transforming their lives and those around them. HHA Sports is proud to partner with Josh on this venture and we can't wait to see his story hit the screen in 2023.
Vegors also has ties to the military and will be documenting his good friend Joe Higginbotham's journey in a future film. Joe is the founder and director of ROVER, a Veterans nonprofit designed to improve the lives of those who have served and their families. Look for Joe on a future episode of The HHAUSA Podcast as he shares his story and the work he and Josh are doing together.
