Episode 97: Star Wars "A New Hope" (1977)

This week at The Film Club we're talking about Star Wars! We're discussing the film that is a pop culture phenomenon from day one and created a fandom that is still going strong til this day. Star Wars tells the story of a war between The Rebel Alliance and The Galactic Empire which introduces a variety of characters and their importance to this fight of good vs evil. We meet Luke Skywalker who lives with his aunt and uncle on their moisture farm, Obi-wan Kenobi a jedi who has been in hiding, Princess Leia who is part of the Rebel Alliance, and Han Solo Captain of the Millennium Falcon. Darth Vader the leader of the evil Empire has kidnapped Princess Leia and is destroying worlds with his planet destroying space station. Can the rebels save the princess and defeat the empire? Or is Darth Vader too strong a force to defeat? Join us as we dive into Star Wars A New Hope.
