Crime is running rampant in Walnut Grove. Not as rampant as Newton or Deadwood, but Laura has to endure another empty pail when her lunch ends up being stolen twice in the same week. It’s not only her, a number of thefts have been committed and the only thing being taken is food. Thus the Ingallas and Garvey detective agency is founded to find the perpetrators. And hilarity ensues as Laura and Andy try to catch the guilty party. From coating the mercantile with flour, pouncing on Mrs. Oleson, or giving Charles a new dye job…these sleuths are anything but super. When the “Creeper” is eventually revealed, it brings up a dilemma as what is right or wrong. Should Laura consider asking Carrie to be a spy more frequently as a way of ditching her sister? What other fun hair colors should Charles consider?
