Jerrik Keller, founder and CEO of The Lighthearted Farmer, an herbal company that specializes in medicinal, high-quality cannabis (hemp) oils. In this episode, Jerrik talks about serendipitous meetings that led him to be one of the earliest CBG farmers, his work with nurses, working with Autism patients, and discovering unique terpene- cannabinoid formulas and extraction methods for optimal outcomes. He grew up in Kansas and participated in conventional agriculture on the family farm. The influences of herbalism, agriculture, and holistic perspectives have shaped Jerrik's vision for The Lighthearted Farmer.
He studied Agricultural Business at Colorado State University before moving to Arizona and working in a 30,000 sq ft. greenhouse growing medical Cannabis. In 2017, Jerrik started The Lighthearted Farmer in Oregon.
Through TLF, Jerrik cultivated relationships with nurses, doctors, and other experts in the cannabis world. These collaborations shed light on a need for more targeted cannabinoid formulations, which led to the creation of Unity Formulas. Unity Formulas utilizes specific strains, cannabinoids, ratios, and terpenes to form products that provide a more targeted approach. Unity Formulas' mission is to create more positive customer and patient outcomes using cannabinoids. The brand donates 15% of all sales to a nonprofit Autism Safe Haven.
He provides an insightful perspective on agriculture, Cannabis, medicine, and what it means to be human. He enjoys one-on-one conversations with customers, discovering through first-hand experience, and laughing. Jerrik values integral relationships, open hearts and minds, and the golden light of a late afternoon sun.
Jerrik loves to climb, explore the local ecosystem, and disc golf when not in the office.
