In the early summer of 1887, bodies of murdered Chinese miners floated down the Snake River into Lewiston, ID. Racism and plain lack of care + compassion kept the story of the Hells Canyon Massacre threadbare for over 100 years. Justice was never achieved in this case, but 31 innocent Chinese men deserve to have their story told. This is the story of the Hells Canyon Massacre and a glimpse into life as a Chinese immigrant in America in the late 1800s.
