The Trail Blazers intentionally built a roster that can play small and stay small. Even with Jusuf Nurkic in the middle Portland is going to be small on the wings and perhaps aggressively undersized in the second unit. This is what the team built for itself. So will it work?
There's reason to believe they've upgraded their defensive personnel and adjusted their defensive scheme enough to where they can be a competent group even without size at the forward spots.
They've also stacked the roster with very good rebounding guards allowing for smaller lineups that can still take care of the defensive glass.
But even with those upgrades there's reason to be skeptical, right?
