MD 018 The Witch of the Waves w/ Ed Greenwood (The Forgotten Realms, D&D, TSR)
Captain Spike and his PiRat vikings have pillaged the coast of its precious paper and kidnapped villagers saying things like, “you look like a rat queen.” The villagers have collected a small amount of money to hire you to help them. The village leader introduces you to a swarm of rats in a trench coat who teleports you to The Witch of the Waves, a magical ship, to pursue Captain Spike to his lair so you can save the kidnap victims and stop this menace once and for all.
This week’s guest: Ed Greenwood. We talk about Lake Geneva, his character Elminster, creating The Forgotten Realms, and his clandestine meeting with Steve in Los Angeles. He’s recently worked on DMs Guild – Thay Land Of The Red Wizards. A new Volo’s Guide for a city we haven’t heard much from in the past.
He’s currently working with Andrew Valkauskas (creator/designer/publisher of the Fate Of The Norns RPG) on a complete, detailed fantasy city (Ath Cliath, or Viking-ruled Dublin, circa 835 AD) usable with any RPG but designed for Fate of the Norns: Ragnarok – The Children of Eriu. You can follow their progress via their Patreon.
