The Letterman Podcast 018 Steve O'Donnell Part 1
Steve O'Donnell has a history with David Letterman that spans more than 40 years. He was with Dave near the very beginning, became head writer, left when the show became 'bigger' and came back at the end as an overqualified faxer. What happened in all those middle years? Much of that is discussed in this episode. Of all the comedy legends out there, Steve might be one of the most humble of the bunch. He openly discusses the show's early years, vs the later years, and some of the projects he was involved with after he left Late Show, including Jimmy Kimmel, Norm Macdonald and others. They discuss highlights from the show and have a lovely exchange, despite the fact that Steve is not, nor will ever be Bob Hammerquist. Note: some of the events of this podcast may seem coincidental or staged. They are not. So to hear how Steve originally met Shecky, and much more you will have to watch part 2, which comes out next week. In the meantime, how about Liking, Subscribing, and Sharing this episode? We are serious! We LOVE when people do that! Please be one of those folks. We have some cool goals, but they won't be possible until the show is a touch more friendly on the metrics scale. #thanksdave #davidletterman #latenight #lateshow #thelettermanpodcast #jimmykimmel #normmacdonald #comedy #comedywriter
