Episode 99: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
This week at The Film Club we're kicking off August with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Franchise! Join us for this episode as we talk about the film that started it all in 1974. The film tells the story of a group of friends driving through Texas in the middle of summer to check the gravesite of Sally and Franklin's Grandfather after multiple grave sites throughout the state have been dug up and bodies have been taken. Their grandfather's remains are safe and they suggest that they should all go visit their grandfather's abandoned home. They pick up a hitchhiker along the way and all hell breaks out when the hitchhiker slices Franklin's arm with a pocket knife. After they kick out the hitchhiker they realize they're out of gas and the closest gas station won't be receiving gas until morning. The kids decided to spend the night at the grandfather's abandoned home and its a decision they'll come to regret when Leatherface and family are the nearest neighbors. Can the kids survive the night? Or will they vanish like the bodies in the cemetery? Join us as we dive into the world of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
