Dr. Gary Ferguson serves as Faculty and Director of Outreach & Engagement at Washington State University’s Institute for Research and Education to Advance Community Health (IREACH). Dr. Ferguson is Aleut/ Unangax, and an enrolled member of the Qagan Tayagungin Tribe. Formally trained as a Naturopathic Physician, he is passionate about reclaiming the indigenous medicines of the First Peoples of Alaska, and supporting healthy communities with a population health approach. Dr. Ferguson regularly teaches about promoting Alaskan Plants as Food & Medicine, and is the co-creator of the Store Outside Your Door Initiative.
