みなさんこんにちは、かなこです!今日のシャドーイングは「Counter for people:人 (にん)」です。
Hi everyone, it’s Kanako. Today’s shadowing is “Counting people in Japanese”. The counter for people is “人 (にん)”. However, “one person” is “一人(ひとり)” and “two people” is “二人(ふたり)”. These are the only exceptions so after three, you just need to add “人 (にん)” after the number.
When you go to restaurants or coffee shops, usually you’ll get asked “何名様(なんめいさま)ですか?” which means “How many people?”. You can simply answer with “人(にん)” or if you are alone, you can say “一人(ひとり) です”.
それでは はじめていきましょう! Let’s get started!
