Justification is to be Made Right through Correction
Sabbath School Q3 2022: In the Crucible With Christ - Week 7
In this week's study, we take a look at correction. Correction, or discipline, helps us go from wrong to right.
Basically, justification is to be made right, according to the parallelisms of Romans 5. And how do we receive that gift of justification? Through the graciousness of correction or discipline. How else are we going to be made right? Wrongdoers who believe in Christ are still wrongdoers. The whole idea of being able to continue in sin, or wrongdoing, after justification is not substantiated in scripture or the writings of Ellen White. Ellen White said that "The righteousness of Christ will not cover one cherished sin." (COL 316).
Correction, which is education, is the key to becoming righteous. Correction is to be righted so we can give up our wrong. Righteousness is acting on ideas that are correct, or true. Unrighteousness is wrong doing, or acting on ideas that are false.
