This love is the kind of love Jesus was asking of Peter on the shore of Galilee after Peter fished all night and caught nothing. It is the kind that doesn't wax cold amidst the apostasy in the world. Even this picture of waxing cold, denotes a wax seal that because it is no longer near the flame, has become cold, so cold that it is no longer malleable or flesh like. This is representative of our hearts when they do not stay near the flame of God's presence and follow Him bravely through obedience. We must be a people of His presence if we are going to live on purpose for Jesus.
