Episode 25: When God calls you to do the unimaginable; a years long journey to healing and forgiveness with Rachelle Graves
We have an incredibly powerful conversation to share with you today. Our host Sarah Schalow had the opportunity and privilege to hear from Rachelle Graves and we are honored to bring that to you here.
⚠️ Before you listen, we do want to give you a trigger warning for this episode. Child sexual abuse is discussed throughout this conversation. ⚠️
In her own words Rachelle feels that she is a modern-day Jonah. She says that because God called her to do something that was unimaginable in her own strength. Rachelle's story starts with her sharing with us that her earliest childhood memories include sexual abuse. For 10 years she was abused in her own home. A painful event in her later teen years finally brought her out of her home and Rachelle was eventually able to get on her feet. She married her husband at the age of 20 and they started their family and moved to Arizona. Rachelle was thankful to God for her new growing family and was ready to move on with her life and leave all of the abuse behind. Then one day while driving to work she heard a story on the radio about forgiveness and that changed everything. A years long process of healing, forgiveness and eventually sharing the Gospel with her abuser began; hence where the modern-day Jonah narrative comes in. This is a truly powerful story, and we feel honored to share it with you here.
