Talk Like a Mother: Parenting Autism Podcast
Kids & Family:Parenting
We are talking about our lifelong experience with sending our kids to school. We discussed in our last episode sending our kids off for the first time.
Here we go a bit further to look at the hard choices of putting our kids out into the world. Some of the really hard situations that have come from our experience. We are so grateful for all the teachers and paras that have invested time and love to support our kids. If you want an honest view of how this goes for parents of children with disabilities, we open up about the behind-the-scenes feelings that come with the school experience.
We have felt judgment and support and have faced numerous decisions associated with the best way for our kids to learn in the way that works for them.
We also want to say that we see all the people sitting across from us who look us in the eye with kindness and circle our children to make the school experience a good one for them.
