Fragrance of the Buddha

The Fragrance of the Buddha is a selection of audios from a retreat of the same name, which took place in Thailand in 2016. In this retreat Swaha shared a taste of the Eastern atmosphere and the pearls of the Buddha, bringing the depth of his teachings to light in modern language. Most of all, Swaha shared the profound silence from where the words come, embodying the Buddha’s teachings with his presence and love.

The Way of the Buddha (16.02.21) 
In this first audio, Swaha opens the retreat welcoming everyone to his “traveling ashram.” He shares the Buddha’s life story, and comments on excerpts of the Dhammapada: 

“Few cross over the river
Most are stranded on this side.
On the river bank they run up and down.

But the wise person, following the path,
Crosses over, beyond the reach of death.

Free from desire,
Free from possessions,
Free from attachment and appetite,
Following the seven lights of awakening,

And rejoicing gently in his freedom, 
In this world the wise man 
Becomes a light unto himself,
Pure, shining, free.”
