In this third audio, Swaha continues reading the first teachings of the Buddha: the Four Noble Truths. He points out how simple the Truth is and how complicated we, human beings, have become, steered by our desires. It is not by getting more but by emptying ourselves, opening up space, that we can receive the Truth, simple and vast.
“I discover that profound Truth which is so difficult to perceive, so difficult to understand,
so tranquilizing and sublime.
Which is not to be gained by mere reasoning, by the mind.
It is only visible to the wise.
The world, however, is given away to pleasure,
delighted with pleasure, enchanted with pleasure.
Truly, such human beings will never understand the Law of karma and their own conditioning.
Yet, there are some human beings whose eyes are only a little covered with dust.
They will understand the Truth.”
