Remembering an Icon Herbert V. Kohler

We are deeply saddened by the loss of an industry icon Herbert V. Kohler Jr. (Herb) over the weekend.

Our company has proudly used Kohler fixtures for over 45 years and as a Wisconsin company and product manufacturer Kohler has always been an industry leader and respected brand.

In this episode we share some of the amazing things Herb Kohler did in the industry and David shares when he met him in Washington D.C.

In remembrance of Herb Kohler, here is a brief history of the impact of Kohler Co. not only in Wisconsin but in the world:


•1911 Kohler invents 1st once pice built in bathtubs
•1917 Kohler switches production to ship anchors to help with WW1
•1926 Village of kohler plant makes faucets
•1929 Walter Kohler becomes Governor & also Chairman of Kohler
•1937 Herbert V. Kohler Sr. is President / Chairman
•1946 Kohler returns to production of residential fixtures to help with post WW2 housing boom after building products to help the military once again
•1972 Herbert V. Kohler Jr is elected chairman
•1974 Herbert V. Kohler also becomes President of Kohler
•1977 Frank Lloyd Wright helps design the master plan for Kohler Village
•1981 American Club is formed
•1988 Koher opens first golf course Blackwolf Run
•1998 Koher opens Whistling Straits golf course
•2009 David Kohler is President/COO Herbert Jr serves as Chairman
