This episode was inspired by the following quote:
CAPITALISM DRIVES OUR EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS. CAPITALISM DRIVES THE DISDAIN FOR LOAN FORGIVENESS. The need to grow, compete, provide first class luxury dorms and food, first class job opportunities etc etc led to massive tuition increases (while professor pay has stayed relatively low) at US educational institutions. Its hollow ethic of competition (and all that entails) also drives the ones who disdain forgiving school loans.
Having said that, loan forgiveness really won't address the capitalist takeover of US educational institutions.
