12. Stepping Beyond the Medical Paradigm as an OBGYN with Dr. Nathan Riley

Hey birthworkers, how far will you let the hospital system push you? When will you decide to make a better path for yourself and your clients?

The process of becoming an OBGYN is long and hard… and it’s easy to get used to the systems of authority, but working the hopital isn’t the “only way.” Nathan shares the story of his career from med school all the way through to putting in his two weeks as a hospital OBGYN. Nathan is *literally* changing the landscape of women’s healthcare outside of the traditional medical system. 

In this episode, Nathan Riley and I will be talking about supporting moms both inside and outside of the hospital system.

Nathan Riley lives in Louisville, Kentucky. He is an OBGYN, ACOG, works as a hospice physician, and has a telehealth practice: belovedholistics.com. 

He also runs a collaborator program for independent midwives, doulas, and other healthcare professionals, which is where he invests the vast majority of his time. In this program, he provides one-on-one consultations, peer reviews, orders meds, labs, imaging and more.
