Join us as we celebrate and discuss the 50-year-old Yes album Close to the Edge! Chime in with any memories of how you discovered the music on this album or saw them play any of the songs live! The album line-up consisted of Jon Anderson, Jon Anderson – lead vocals, Steve Howe – guitars, electric sitar, steel guitar, backing vocals, Chris Squire – bass, backing vocals, Rick Wakeman – keyboards, Bill Bruford – drums, percussion. After recording this alum, Bill Bruford found the album particularly laborious to make, which culminated in his decision to quit the band after it was recorded, to join King Crimson. He said he would wit until they found his replacement for the tour, and Alan joined with just days to learn and rehearse the entire show. Bill would not play CTTE or “And You And I" until the ABWH tour in 1989 and never performed "Siberian Khatru.” Whether studio or live, this music is amazing and raised the bar for all things prog rock and is still known to most as the highest benchmark.
