The Unlock Moment: find your purpose for leadership and life
Business:Careers
For many years I’ve encouraged my corporate teams and my coaching clients to take a more 100,000 foot view of the world. We all have a habit of getting lost in the weeds sometimes and it’s a useful skill to be able to rise above the chaos and survey the big picture. So it made a huge amount of sense to bring someone on to the podcast who could help us do just that.
For space tech CEO Ryan Hartman, a life in the military, aerospace and defence prepared him for top leadership roles in some of the most cutting edge industries in the world. But what he discovered about himself and his own purpose was even more impactful. Flying fast, now the lesson of slowing down.
Ryan Hartman is the Chief Executive of space tech pioneer WorldView. Based in Tucson, Arizona, WorldView is unlocking opportunities through a low-cost, long-duration persistent high-altitude flight for commercial and government customers. That’s a lot of long words and I know Ryan’s going to bring it to life for you much better than I ever could.
But here on the Unlock Moment, we’re also fascinated in the personal journey. Ryan is a veteran of the US Air Force and Navy. He led the Unmanned Systems Directorate for aerospace and defence business Raytheon. And most recently he’s been President and Chief Executive of Insitu, a pioneer in the design, development and manufacturing of unmanned aircraft systems. His is a fascinating CV and I’m looking forward to finding out what he’s learned about leadership and purpose along the way in so many high performance environments.
