Cliques. Personality cults. Jealousy. Favoritism. These all add up to division, and the Corinthian church was experiencing this in spades. Some preferred the leadership of Apollos, others Paul, and still others Cephas. St. Paul addresses this childish behavior by pointing to the actual power at work in the congregation: God. Apostles and pastors are but mere servants of God. Their job is not to fashion little churches for themselves, but to build upon the foundation of Jesus Christ. In this episode, Pastors Booe and Lukomski explore what it means when Paul writes, “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.” (v. 6)
