Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, as the representative of the Royal Family in South Australia, has several tasks that she is required to complete during the time of “court mourning”, which ended on 19 September 2022.
The Governor’s responsibilities have included proclaiming His Majesty The King as South Australia’s new Sovereign at the State Proclamation Ceremony on 11 September 2022.
Government House Adelaide has been a place of mourning since the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, with thousands of South Australians, along with interstate and international visitors, paying tribute to Australia’s longest-reigning monarch.
Her Excellency and Mr Rod Bunten have welcomed visitors to Government House to sign condolence books, lay floral tributes, view a projection on the façade of the building and reflect on the life and remarkable service of Queen Elizabeth II.
