In this podcast, Erika Hamilton, MD, Sarah Cannon Research Institute, Nashville, TN, speaks to Matteo Lambertini, MD, PhD, University of Genova, IRCCS Ospedale Policlinico San Martino, Genova, Italy and Sibylle Loibl, MD, PhD, German Breast Group, Neu-Isenburg, Germany to discuss the latest advances.
The expert panel offer their highlights from SABCS 2020, including the latest trials evaluating CDK4/6 inhibitors in early breast cancer, weighing up the reported data from PENELOPE-B, monarchE and PALLAS and what this means for HR+/HER2- early-stage breast cancer. They also discuss the RxPONDER data and the subgroup analysis based on menopausal status and what it may tell us about adjuvant chemotherapy in these patient populations. The panel also consider the range of immunotherapies being studied in breast cancer and how they plan to determine which chemotherapy backbone to combine with each immune checkpoint inhibitor.
