Brentford had to settle for a draw from this low quality encounter than reminded fans of lower league days gone by rather than a top flight clash. The Cherries were well organised and sat back trying to catch the Bees on the break, but neither goalie was really troubled. VAR was called upon after an Ajer tackle in the box, thankfully after consulting the screen, the ref pointed for a goal kick rather than a penalty. There was also a penalty appeal on the final whistle. Toney and Ajer went close for Brentford but it was a frustrating afternoon on the south coast.
