The Washington Capitals take down the Red Wings by a score of 4-2. Oshie out with upper body injury. McMichael plays his best preseason game yet
In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talk about the Caps 4-2 defeat of the Red Wings. Connor McMichael said this was his best preseason game this year. McMichael got on the score sheet by scoring a goal by the net front. All was not good news in the game however. TJ Oshie suffered an upper body injury. Oshie will be re-evaluated in the morning. Oshie was fighting for a puck in the offensive zone when he was hit from behind by Joe Veleno and went hard into the boards. He went down in visible pain and was slow to get up but skated to the bench under his own power. Oshie left the game shortly after.
Darcy Kuemper was solid in the Washington net, making 31 saves and keeping the Caps in the game until his teammates could get rolling. Connor Brown snapped a 2-2 tie with a power-play goal at 17:33 of the third period, lifting the Caps to their first lead of the night.
