United States President-elect Joe Biden is making it clear that his presidency will not be a "third Obama term." He made those statements in his first interview as president-elect with NBC's Lester Holt, Tuesday night. Biden went onto say that it's a different world since the Obama Administration and that President Donald Trump changed the landscape saying in part: "It's become America first. America Alone."
The President-elect also formally announced new members of his National Security Team on Tuesday. His members include: John Kerry as Special Presidential Envoy for climate, Jake Sullivan as National Security Adviser and Avril Haines for Director of National Intelligence. Biden praised his nominees and their diverse backgrounds. Haines is a physicist and a pilot who also knows judo.
The number of people dying from Covid-19 is rising. The climbing trend continued on Tuesday with 15 days of record hospitalizations and more than 1800 people reported dead. Dr. Anthony Fauci says he's had his first conversation with President-elect Biden's team.
Biden says, the hope is that the Trump Administration will be able to start distributing the vaccine before Biden takes the oath of office in January.
Millions of people are going against the CDC's guidelines and traveling for Thanksgiving. There are at least 6900 flights scheduled for Thursday.
